Soca Fusion Reviews
I've only tried jerk chicken once I believe during a family trip a long time ago to Jamaica where I fell in love with jerk chicken and it until now, I was never able to find a good jerk chicken spot in Northern VA. But I wanted to mention this as I don't really have anything to compare to. But when it comes down to "is the food good?" I can definitely say yes. It didn't last very long. I pretty much inhaled it. The rice and beans, plantains and cabbage are all well seasoned and great. But boy, that jerk chicken was heaven. Pretty spicy, but not to the point that it's overwhelming. If your spice tolerance is low, definitely have a drink nearby. There's a sauce that comes with it that's even spicier that I used sparingly but also, very good. But the spice overall is almost like Takis. It's spicy but a good spicy that you can't help it and you keep stuffing your face with more. Definitely give this a try. I ordered mine through grub hub as the parking situation there is pretty tough. But if you can find a parking spot or live within walking distance, definitely give this place a shot. 5/5 for me.
I read Tom Seistema review in WP and was itching to try it. The food was delectable. A few hiccups but nothing more or less than at any other restaurant. The beef curry was particularly well received. Will be returning,
The staff was very friendly! It just opened a month ago. Still trying to expand menu. Food tastes good and good amount! Provides area with an option for Caribbean food.
Just got takeout on ubereats from this place. I was super surprised by the portion, I just got the shrimp curry with a side of cabbage and paid for an extra side of plantains, $25 and i had a coupon that covered all of the fees and delivery. It was at least two meals, and I eat a lot. 5/5 for portion size. Rice and beans were extremely well seasoned but I wish there was an option for white rice or roti for an extra dollar because frankly wouldn't preferred those to pair with a curry. That's my advice to the business owner. 5/5 as a dish on its own, 4/5 as a pairing to curry Shrimp curry was too mild for my taste buds, although still tasted good. Very generous with the shrimp and veggies thankfully. I recommend that the owner adds on uber eats the ability to chose mild or spicy, as if it was spicy it would have been better for me personally. 4/5 Cabbage was standard 4/5 plantains 5/5 super sweet and big portion, very yummy. My other advice would be to offer a vegetarian entree on uber eats, such as a vegetable stew or chana curry, because people would definitely order that, and again with the option of roti instead of rice.
